En esta ocasión analizamos este entrenador de Lockheed que prestó servicio en numerosas fuerzas aéreas desde los años 50. El “nuevo lanzamiento” de Italeri no es mas que un rebox del molde original de Platz de 2012, en el que se han introducido muy pocos cambios como veremos.

INSTRUCCIONES
El librillo de instrucciones de montaje en blanco y negro es muy simple, conteniendo un mapa de piezas, una tabla de referencias de pinturas muy pobre que solo incluyen colores de Italeri y Federal Standard, y unos pasos de montaje muy simples aunque correctos.
The b/w assembly instructions booklet is very simple, containing a parts map, a very poor paint reference table that only includes Italeri and Federal Standard colors, and some very simple but correct assembly steps.

Aunque la calidad de las calcas parece buena, no han tenido el detalle de incluir calcas para los paneles de mandos de la cabina, que sí incluyen las antiguas maquetas de Platz.
Although the quality of the decals seems good, they have not had the detail to include decals for the cockpit control panels, which do include the old Platz models.
PIEZAS
La calidad original del molde de Platz es bastante buena, con un panelado sutil y buenos relieves, lo que hacen de este kit la mejor opción en 1/72 para el T-33. En la cabina vemos como tenemos reproducidos en relieve los mandos e indicadores, lo cual facilita el trabajo de pintura ya que, como hemos indicado anteriormente, no se incluyen calcas para el cockpit. Los asientos vienen someramente detallados y se echa de menos algún detalle más.
En el resto de piezas observamos detalles interesantes en las admisiones del motor, frenos aerodinámicos y componentes del tren de aterrizaje, sin embargo, las alas no separan las superficies móviles y necesitaremos echar mano de cirugía plástica para representar el avión maniobrando.
En cuanto al transparente, viene en una sola pieza, lo que nos obliga a representar la carlinga cerrada.
The original Platz mold quality is quite good, with subtle panelling and good reliefs, making this kit the best choice in 1/72 for the T-33. In the cockpit we can see how we have the controls and indicators reproduced in relief, which makes the painting work easier since, as we have indicated above, no decals are included for the cockpit. The seats are briefly detailed and some more details are missing.
In the rest of the parts we observe interesting details in the engine intakes, aerodynamic brakes and landing gear components, however, the wings do not separate the moving surfaces and we will need to make use of plastic surgery to represent the aircraft maneuvering.
As for the transparent one, it comes in one piece, which forces us to represent the closed cockpit.
CONCLUSIÓN
Se trata de una maqueta de nivel básico comparado con lo que sale al mercado actualmente y esto se debe a que la maqueta es un rebox de un molde de 2012, muy similar a las maquetas de Italeri en detalles, con las líneas de panel negativo finos y bastante correctas, hay que tener en cuenta que con el T-33 de Sword son los únicos kits con paneles en negativo. Interior de cabina sencillo pero suficiente. No incluye calcas para los paneles de cabina pero incluye una hoja de calcas que hace apetecible comprarlo por la variedad de naciones representadas, lo cual le asegurará ventas.
This is an entry level model compared to what is currently on the market and this is because the model is a rebox from a 2012 mold, very similar to Italeri’s models in details, with fine and quite correct negative panel lines, it should be noted that with Sword’s T-33, they are the only kits with negative panels. Simple but sufficient cabin interior. It does not include decals for the cabin panels but includes a decal sheet that makes it attractive to buy from the variety of nations represented, which will ensure a lot of sales.
